KEY ASSOCIATION ACTIVITIES FOR 2004-2007

Ongoing efforts to raise public awareness about dental hygiene care and about oral disease prevention in Austria
Achievement of representation on the Austrian government advisory committee on dental health, observing membership of a Dental Hygienist of the Council of European Chief Dental Officers (CECDO), development and promotion of the periodontal health screening performed by physicians during the annual health check-up, media coverage of state of the art dental hygiene care, development of continuing education courses, increased professional involvement at the Department of Periodontology at the dental school of the University of Vienna (3 dental hygienists hold scientific positions as lecturers and clinical instructors), involvement in scientific studies to validate the periodontal health screening, provision of quality patient care.
